Privacy policy

Last updated: 4 October 2026
This policy describes which personal data is processed when you visit this website and use the LinkLocke software. In short: the website uses no cookies and no tracking, and without an account the app runs entirely locally on your PC.

2. Hosting
This website is hosted by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, Inhaber René Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany. The LinkLocke server (accounts and online features of the app) runs on a server in the data centre of Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. All data is processed in Germany.
3. Visiting this website
When you open the website, the web server necessarily processes your IP address, date and time, the requested page and your browser type in order to deliver it and keep the service secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR – legitimate interest in a secure, working service). The host keeps these server log files only for a short time and then deletes them automatically.
- No cookies, no tracking, no analytics services. Only your language choice is remembered locally by your browser (localStorage); it is not transmitted.
- No external content: fonts and images are loaded from this server, not from third parties.
- The version number next to the download button is requested from the LinkLocke server (Hetzner, see above). Your IP address is transmitted to that server for this but not stored there.
External links
The download is hosted on GitHub (GitHub Inc., USA), and the support link leads to Ko-fi (Ko-fi Labs Limited, United Kingdom). Data (e.g. your IP address) is transmitted to the respective provider only when you click one of these links; their privacy notices apply there. GitHub is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; for the United Kingdom, an adequacy decision of the EU Commission is in place.
4. The app without an account
Without an account, your games, runs, saves, settings and statistics stay on your PC. LinkLocke only transmits a few things over the internet:
| What | Where to | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Installed version, IP address | LinkLocke server | Checking whether an update is available (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) |
| IP address | GitHub (USA) | Downloading an update when you install it |
| Game, ruleset, badges, deaths, play time | Your Discord app | Discord status (see below) |
| Channel name, IP address | Twitch (USA) | Only if you set up the Twitch chat overlay with a channel: the chat is read anonymously |
Discord status
If the Discord app is running on your PC, LinkLocke shows your current run in your Discord profile (game, ruleset, badges, deaths, attempt, play time). This information goes through the Discord app to Discord Inc. (USA) and is visible to your Discord contacts; Discord's privacy notices apply. The feature is switched on by default. You can switch it off at any time in LinkLocke under Settings → Streaming → “Show run in Discord profile” or in Discord under “Activity Status” (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; interest: showing the current game, as players want).
Streaming overlays
The OBS overlays run through a server that can only be reached on your own PC (127.0.0.1); no data leaves your computer.
5. The app with an account (online features)
You need an account for Soul Link, friends, leaderboards, community, wishes and tournaments. The legal basis is providing these features that you want to use (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). For this we process:
| Data | Visible to |
|---|---|
| Username, profile text, profile picture (optional) | Everyone (public profile) |
| Password – only as an encrypted hash (Argon2), never in plain text | No one |
| Login sessions | No one |
| Friends list and friend requests | You and the friends involved |
| Soul Link data: team, catches, deaths, badges, game screen during play | Your teammates in the group |
| Chat messages in groups | Group members |
| Leaderboard entries: game, preset, result, time, deaths, money, team stats | Everyone (public leaderboards) |
| Unlocked achievements | Everyone (public profile) |
| Published presets, ratings, wishes and votes | Everyone (presets, wishes); ratings and votes only as a count |
| Tournament participation and results, spectator video | Tournament participants and spectators |
| Reports of presets and wishes | Moderators |
| API keys and webhooks (only if you create them) | No one |
While you are connected, the server processes your IP address to answer requests; it is not stored. There is no advertising, no profiling and no automated decision-making.
Storage period and deletion
Account data is kept until you delete your account. You can do this at any time in the app under Online → Account → “Delete account”: this deletes your profile, picture, friends, leaderboard entries, published presets, wishes and chat messages. To protect against data loss, the server creates a daily backup that is deleted automatically after 14 days; until then, deleted data may still be contained in a backup.
Moderation
Public content (presets, wishes) can be reported by others. After several reports it is hidden automatically and reviewed by moderators. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a community free of unlawful or offensive content (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
6. Your rights
You have the right to
- access your stored data (Art. 15 GDPR),
- rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR),
- erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) – directly in the app or by email,
- restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR),
- object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR).
To do so, just write to the email address above. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the authority where you live.
7. Changes
If LinkLocke changes, we will update this policy. The version published here at any given time applies.
